Quick Start Guide

  1. Installation: Upload the wp-bot-tracker folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory or install via the WordPress Plugins menu.
  2. Activation: Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Access: Navigate to the WP Bot Tracker menu in your WordPress dashboard.
  4. Initial Setup: Go to WP Bot Tracker > Settings to configure your license and general preferences.

2. Bot Hierarchy & Analytics

3. Page Bot Visits

Track which specific pages on your site are being crawled. This is essential for ensuring your most important content is being reached by search engine bots.

Monitor the internal links visited by bots. This helps you understand how bots discover content on your site and identify any crawl budget issues.

5. Live Bot Tracking

Watch bot activity in real-time. See live hits as they happen, including IP addresses, User-Agents, and the pages being accessed.

6. Bot Manager

Take control of bot behavior using robots.txt rules directly from your admin area. Easily allow or block specific bots from certain parts of your site.

Settings & Configuration

The Settings page allows you to:

  • General Settings: Configure core plugin behavior.
  • License Management: Enter and manage your license key to receive updates and support.
  • Dashboard Preferences: Customize what data you see on your main analytics screens.
